Here's how an Accounting Manager for our Montreal office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, monitors, approves, and is accountable for all accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, check run, payroll, reporting, in accordance with legislation, and PCL policy and procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes all accounting/financial adjustments, submissions, and reports and ensures they are completed in a timely manner. Follows up and manages any issues, problems, or discrepancies.
  • Oversees and is accountable for the setup, maintenance, adjustments, and monitoring of all accounting processes and procedures as required. Recommends improvements to manager, Finance and Commercial Risk, and implements accordingly.
  • Responsible for leading an accounting team, designing team processes and supporting growth and careers of team members
  • Responsible for managing internal and external financial audits as applicable.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation required
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in the construction or a related industry preferred.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience involving managing an accounting department.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and high level of detail orientation, with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information to meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of full-cycle accounting, with the ability to teach and mentor more junior staff.
