Job Description

The grocery clerk is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service to guests. The position performs cashiering duties and guest service duties along with assisting with order placement, receiving, stocking and facing of grocery department. This position reports to the Grocery Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to provide information, assistance, and exceptional customer service to all customers
• Handles and records transactions through the point of sale terminal and prepare daily cash reconciliations
• Accurately and efficiently process and package all customer purchases to meet established standards
• Respond to general customer inquiries and be familiar with in store promotions, bulletins, and updates
• Monitor, organize, stock, and tidy merchandise
• Performs general housekeeping duties (spills, display fixtures, washrooms, etc.) to ensure all areas of responsibility are safe, organized, clean, and tidy
• Responsible for keeping the sales floor and back stock area clean of cardboard and debris including the disposal of garbage
• Assist with regular clean up duties to ensure an efficient, safe, and clean location is maintained.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is preferred
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
• Strong communication skills

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Day range:

• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
