The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for a temporary Administrative Assistant. Administrative Assistant’s provide clerical support to staff and assist parents and other visitors in a friendly and approachable manner. They are valuable members of the team.
Assignment and Term:
This position is a temporary position of 7.5 hours per day in accordance with the Administrative Assistant school calendar.
The position commences on May 4, 2023 and expires June 9, 2023. The work schedule will be from 8:00 a.m. - 4:20 p.m. with a 50 minute unpaid lunch break from 12:10 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.
The duties of an Administrative Assistant are to:
Greet parents and other visitors in a kind manner.
Receive and forward inquiries to the appropriate staff member.
Effectively create, manipulate, and utilize spreadsheets, word documents and file management.
Operate the public address system and other office equipment.
Work collaboratively with, and under the direction of, the school administration and with other school personnel on a daily basis.
Maintain a positive attitude toward others, their work, school and the division.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information pertaining to the school.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designate and those listed in Job Description – Administrative Assistant.
The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Acute attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to work as a team member.
Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $18.54 - $23.95 plus applicable vacation pay.
Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan, if eligible, the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan (MEPP), if enrollment is chosen and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.
