The Clinical Support Services (CSS) of the Winnipeg School Division is responsible for providing clinical services in Clinical Reading, Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, School Psychology, and School Social Work to students, families, and schools within the Division and a number of independent schools.

This is a full-time, 12-month permanent position. Under the direction of the Service Director, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for the supervision of the support staff across 5 locations (12 clerical & 1 computer technician), providing administrative support to CSS and performing accounting and bookkeeping functions. Functions as a member of the CSS leadership team.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Schedules and assigns clerical work; ensures sufficient clerical coverage and support at all times,
  • Monitors WANTE staff performance; provides assistance and input into performance evaluations,
  • Maintains and monitors CSS budget including financial statements, budget preparation and submissions, as well as Purchasing requisitions,
  • Attends and participates in various meetings related to the operation of CSS,
  • Provides monthly statistical reports, prepares staffing spreadsheets,
  • Assists in the implementation of new policies and procedures as required,
  • Prepares staff reimbursements and requests for payment,
  • Planning for in-house and large-scale PD events, (MOAs, Fee-for-Service, venue rentals etc.),
  • Organizes and supports the Clinical Summer Service program,
  • Knowledge of Pupil File Guidelines and ability to supervise the safe transfer of clinical files to other Divisions,
  • Knowledge of the Division’s Accounting & Financial policies and procedures to ensure CSS compliance,
  • Supports the Service Director as needed,
  • Other duties as required.
