Our favourite SE client is seeking a new addition to their growing and ever-evolving organization. Looking to hire an AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Compliance Officer, this candidate will be joining a group of like-minded individuals in a fun, laid back, and up-beat work environment.

This role involves sending out due diligence, verifying information, and be the first point of contact for law enforcement concerning any fraudulent transactions. A quick learner who can jump and hit the ground running in no time will be best suited for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Sending out due diligence form to new/existing merchants
  • ID collection, data verification and encoding information into the database
  • Reviewing validity and accuracy of licenses and official documentations
  • First point of contact for fraudulent transactions and reporting of illegal financial activities to proper authorities
  • Escalating with the right team member for resolution management of fraudulent transaction
  • Ensures information obtained is consistent with Policy and Procedures and satisfies regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls
  • Audit processes, practices and documents
  • Preparing reports detailing findings from investigations and their recommendations for action

Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Legal Assistant is an asset

Qualifications:

  • Due diligence knowledge and experience is a strong asset

Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ Legal Assistant role is an asset
  • 2-3 years administrative experience is a must
  • 1 year work experience in an AML (Anti-Money Laundering) role is a strong asset

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess strong administrative skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • A quick learner who can navigate systems simultaneously
  • Easygoing, laid-back person, who values teamwork and collaboration
  • Maintenance of discretion in handling confidential information

Work Hours:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday

Remote Work:

  • This position is not remote and required to be on-site.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Administrative: 2 years (required)
  • Due Diligence: 1 year (preferred)
  • Legal Assistant: 2 years (preferred)
