The Digital Communications team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the web content migration and amalgamation of 30+ legacy websites into a single integrated platform. The Business Analyst will engage portfolio business partners, the broader Digital Communications team and other subject matter experts across the organization in the development of business requirements. In addition to expert communication skills, this role requires a strong analytical acumen.
Here is what you will be doing:
  • Work with business and IT partners to implement change and drive improvements
  • Work closely with web product manager to collaborate with stakeholders to identify, define and document business requirements for the web transformation project
  • Develop user stories, use cases and other relevant documentation to effectively communicate business requirements to the technical team
  • Work with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure that the final product meets the business needs
  • Identify potential areas of improvement to optimize the website functionality and user experience including alternatives and recommendations
  • Ensure that project documentation is kept up-to-date and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
  • Meet project deadlines and schedules; help drive momentum through effective elicitation of requirements and adaptive strategies to obtain stakeholder input
  • Prepare/maintain system documentation, guidelines, and process maps
  • Facilitate and support the execution of test plans
  • Provide operational support for issue resolution and service request management; when needed, perform root cause analysis; identify improvements, simplify processes, and document them
  • Ability to prioritize and manage on-going and multiple requests and system requirements to meet Ontario Health goals
  • Support the Digital Communications team to ensure digital communications are compliant with Digital Standards, Policies and Guidelines and aligned to the Digital Product Roadmap
  • Work collaboratively within the team and with stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of projects
  • Bring expertise and share knowledge to other teams while on assignment
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Business Analyst experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role preferably supporting web development or digital transformation projects
  • Undergraduate degree required with an educational background in a related field such as Business, Digital/eCommerce, and/or Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to document, elicit and interpret business requirements, posing specific questions through interview and workshop processes
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with business analysis methodologies, best practices and tools; certifications an asset
  • Strong understanding of Digital Experience Platforms and Content Management Systems
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience collecting and documenting requirements for a wide range of technical solutions, demonstrating adept technical acumen

  • Strong analytical skills; conceptual thinker with advanced problem solving and decision-making skills, highly motivated and resourceful to perform with limited supervision
  • Adept verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new ideas and solutions and communicate effectively with colleagues (program and technical staff) and end users.
  • Familiarity of privacy and security legislation; experience on assignments involving PHIPA and industry best practice in the Ontario healthcare sector an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure, lead others and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • A work ethic of dependability through punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability to perform as an efficient, detail-oriented team player
  • Excellent presentation skills complimented by a successful track record in building credibility and creating consensus
  • Ability to establish positive collaborative relationships, working with internal partners and stakeholders across the organization
  • Understanding of both waterfall and agile project methodologies
  • Knowledge of AODA requirements in web
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge in Digital, communications, web design and development
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare status reports, minutes and actions/next steps
  • Ability to provide analysis and recommendations
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
