You will be responsible for understanding the work of Licensing and Compliance Monitoring Branch to assist in the development, improvement, and maintenance of business processes through IT development. The incumbent will help guide the business by improving processes, products, services, and software through data analysis. The successful individual will apply technical knowledge to resolve and troubleshoot system issues. This role will be the primary point of contact for maintenance and support of the Accommodation Standards tracking and licensing system, including public reporting websites, and imaging. The successful individual will apply strong analytical skills to explore and examine information, question existing assumptions and processes, and measure and report on process performance where possible in a comprehensive format. The position requires a self-motivated individual with sound judgement, interpretive and communication skills who will work in liaison with IT developers/architects, internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

University graduation in a related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below.


Preference will be given to individual with:

  • System development and support experience
  • IT focused business analyst work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with data analysis, mapping, and transformation
  • Experience in business analysis or systems troubleshooting roles in a large organization is an asset
  • Experience in the life cycle of systems development and application support and a working knowledge of technical systems (such as software applications, network, security, systems testing)
  • Experience in business processes (statistical analysis, user acceptance testing, technical writing, project coordination)
  • Strong experience use of Microsoft office to produce a variety of documents such as letters, tables, reports, lists, charts, graphs
  • Strong database development and maintenance skills

Business Analyst and/or project management certification are considered assets.


Directly related education or experience may be considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Salary

$2,310.48 to $3,030.81 bi-weekly ($60,303 - $79,104 / year)

Notes

There is one (1) full-time, temporary position available located in downtown Edmonton.
