St. Elizabeth Family Support Services is a non-profit organization that aims to provide services to individuals and families experiencing personal and social challenges within the community of North York. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support services to families facing various challenges and promote their overall well-being.

Summer Camp Details:

St. Elizabeth Familly Support Services hosts yearly summer camps for children aged 5-13. The 2023 summer camp will run weekly (Monday-Friday) from July 3rd, 2023, to August 18th, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Camp Counsellor Roles and Responsibilities:

The Summer Camp Counsellor should be able to adapt to situations and solve problems with assistance from the Camp Leader and Camp Coordinator. This position requires a punctual and compassionate individual willing to assist in providing the best camp experience through effective collaboration.

Program Planning and Execution:

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate, engaging camp programs and activities.
• Establish a welcoming, safe atmosphere for campers that promotes positive interactions.
• Ensure that every action aligns with St. Elizabeth Family Support Services' purpose and values.

Camper Safety and Well-being:

• Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure campers' physical and emotional well-being.
• Regularly assess the equipment and campground for safety.
• Encourage healthy behaviours such as good hygiene, staying hydrated, using sunscreen, and safe physical activity.

Behaviour Management:

• Establish clear guidelines and continuously uphold the camp's rules and standards.
• Address conflicts and behavioural concerns fairly and effectively.
• Encourage cooperation and teamwork while fostering a pleasant and courteous camp culture.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Maintain effective communication with campers, parents/guardians, and the camp team.
• Collaborate with other camp leaders and staff to ensure a seamless camp experience for all participants.

Camp Counsellor Qualifications:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• Standard First Aid and CPR Certification from a recognized organization.
• Minimum 1 to 2 years experience working with children.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 6 weeks

Salary: $15.50 per hour
