Our client, a Canadian division of a global business enterprise, provides a broad range of services to add value and create international business opportunities in Canada.
This position will report directly to the President & CEO and lead a team of two Certified Professional Accountants. The company offers Hybrid work arrangements.

Main Job duties:
- Oversee the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions, ensuring and maintaining accounting policies (International Financial Reporting Standards, Canadian Income Tax Act, and OECD Transfer Pricing Guideline) and proper internal control procedures which provide adequate assurance that the company assets are safeguarded.
- Ensure and monitor that all internal/external financial reporting, (mainly Quarterly package, Corporate Tax filing, and Transfer Pricing Study) are prepared in compliance with policies.
- Monitor accounting and tax policies and procedures, set budgets, provide guidance on complex tax and compliance issues and contribute to the financial strategy discussions.
- Ensure and monitor the Aggregated Compensation System implemented by the parent company to be complied with Transfer Pricing Regulation.
- Oversee the Treasury and Finance functions ensuring and maintaining a proper cash flow for the company, and adhering to internal controls and all legal financial standard & policies.
- Guide financial decisions for senior management by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Assist senior management by participating and performing in special projects and various analyses to explore opportunities to reduce company’s risks.
- Plan, assign and direct works to accounting personnel, appraising work performance and development and, providing problem resolutions under difficult situations.

Minimum Requirements:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (“CPA”) designation with 10 plus years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
- Solid understanding of all functions of the accounting and taxation including international taxation and the ability to administrate financial planning and reporting.
- Experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
- Effective communication and people management skills
- Proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of Japanese language and understanding of Japanese business culture is preferred but not a prerequisite.
