Accounting Officer – Canada Summer Jobs New Westminster, BC

Lookout Housing and Health Society is a charitable organization and social safety net that provides housing and a range of support services to adults, with low or no income, who have few, if any, housing or support options. Hours, Days of Work and Salary: Will work Monday to Friday (negotiable). Shift start times will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Shifts are 8 hours in length with 1 hour break, for a total of 35 hours per week. Days of rest shall be consecutive. Schedule may change with two weeks’ notice. The position is temporary and for 08 weeks. The salary is $18.25 per hour.

Job Duties:

• Assist with entering A/P invoices
• Assist to post customer payments recording cash, checks and credit card transition
• Assist in collecting outstanding payments
• Assist to reconcile the revenue accounts and prepare the monthly reports assist to file accounting documents
• Other general office tasks.

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a business or accounting course/field
• Must have current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Must have two doses of COVID 19 Vaccine
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills Training is an asset
• Must pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to manage high workload with multiple priorities
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Must have experience using Sage 300 software
• Demonstrated ability to work within a busy Finance Team
