Job Summary
Responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient, day surgery, emergency and clinic records. Other duties will include CIHI month end submission and balancing, release of information and making corrections to the coding database.
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate of an approved Health Information Management Program.
Active member in good standing with the Canadian College of Health Information Management Association.
Two (2) years’ related work experience.
Experience with Meditech, 3M and Code finder would be an asset.
Excellent knowledge of coding and abstracting software and experience in the electronic health record environment as well as a paper-based system.
Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws (e.g., PHIPA, Public Hospital Act).

Proficient in the use of ICD-10/CCI coding system.
Demonstrated strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Hours of Work : Available for all shifts including weekends and statutory holidays
