We are currently recruiting a Conference Planning Assistant to join our team.
PARTNERSHIP WITH STUDENT SUMMER JOBS
The Ottawa Food Bank is partnering with Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) to provide quality opportunities for youth. CSJ is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help youth in Canada develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market. The CSJ program objectives align with YESS and are as follows:
The program works with employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees, to create quality summer work experiences for young people aged 15 to 30 years. This is a fixed term opportunity, ending September 1, 2023.
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Program Development and Evaluation Coordinator, the Conference Planning Assistant will support the Programs and Planning team in planning and execution of logistics related to the 2023 Ottawa Food Security Conference.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL
The Conference Planning Assistant works on-site at the Ottawa Food Bank. Duties are performed in an office environment. Travel is not required.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) is required. The ability to speak additional languages is an asset.
COMPENSATION
The rate for this position is $19.60 per hour, working a full-time, 35-hour work week.
