The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for a Construction General Foreperson for Capital Repairs with experience in project coordination and expertise in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.

What will you be responsible for?
Reporting to the Regional Project and Facilities Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner. Your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Oversee daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner.
- Assist with recruitment.
- Review laws by regulating safety on-site while maintaining it throughout all stages.
- Provide technical assistance to field staff and coordinate project requirements with the Site Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Designer, Fabrication Shop and all other team members when required.
- Plan for their crew's success by providing them with clear instructions on what they need at every step of the process as well as ample training so everyone can do their part properly.
- Participation in regular site project meetings
- Preparation of daily production reports.
- Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
- Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
- Allocate general and daily responsibilities
- Supervise and train workers and tradespeople
- Ensure workforce and resources are adequate
- Review individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attend weekly crew safety meetings to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation
- Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
- Interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches
- Resolve problems when they arise
- Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
What will make you successful in this role?
A successful Project Manager will have the following experience, knowledge and skills:
- Minimum (5) five years prior experience in similar roles with leadership and planning responsibilities in the construction industry
- High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
- Strong carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge
- Previous experience in Restaurant Construction and Renovations
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
- Great understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report effectively
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines; attention to detail and high accuracy
- Literate in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Positive attitude, willingness to encourage co-workers, and act as an ambassador for our companies
The physical requirements are:
- Must be able to stand and be on their feet 10-12 hours / day
- Use proper lifting techniques for heavy pipes weighing more than 25 kilograms
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for 10-12 hours / day
