Job #4472 – Terrific opportunity to join an Ottawa based organization that is well-established and recognized as an industry leader! Reporting to the Director of Finance, your primary focus will be to oversee, manage, and control all financial accounting and reporting activities for a group of companies. The selected incumbent will provide leadership to the accounting department and ensure all systems and procedures are accurate and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Controller will also provide key financial data to the leadership team which will play an important part in the decision-making process for various operational and strategic initiatives. Main responsibilities include:

• Oversee the accounting department and provide ongoing leadership and support
• Prepare pro-forma budgets for internal and external projects
• Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and provide management with financial results and reporting to assist with decision making
• Ensure compliance with all accounting, legal and regulatory requirements
• Assess internal control systems and implement new or improved processes
• Liaise with external advisors to oversee annual audit and renewal process
• Assist in the development of business performance metrics and oversee regulatory reporting
• Manage relationships with financial institutions and advisors

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:

• Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting
• Completed CPA designation preferred
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive work experience
• Previous construction/real estate experience considered an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Previous supervisory experience
• Proficient in Excel
