Job Description
Robert Half is hiring a Cost Analyst for a fast-growing company, so if you are a dedicated candidate, you might be a good fit. In this position, you will work closely with the inventory on various financial products as well as have responsibility for measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. This Cost Analyst role is a short-term contract / temporary employment opportunity in the Markham, Ontario, area. We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in financial analysis.
Responsibilities
Gather and analyze financial data
Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs
Prepare detailed reports, both periodically and ad-hoc
Help management make important decisions based on costs and benefits (e.g. investments, market growth, pricing changes)
Create and manage budgets, and monitor spending
Conduct audits on financial processes and transactions
Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs
Estimate product costs for existing and new products
Forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor and inventory
Suggest cost-reducing or profitable solutions
Conduct market research to support future business planning
- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of JDE EnterpriseOne is an Asset
- Costing experience
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Proficiency in Product Costing
- Standard Costing experience
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Adeptness in account reconciliation
- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
- Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested
- Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience considered)
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
