Business Data Analyst

The Business Data Analyst will support the Data Analytics Manager in the journey to develop and consolidate a data-driven culture at Nature’s Fare. This person will be responsible for understanding and, in some cases, anticipating the business needs transforming them into Impactful, insightful, user-friendly reports using Power BI.

Additionally, will provide support via training, documentation, and workshops to all levels of the organization, growing the data access and understanding across the company.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

This role is highly focused on the details and leads by example in data accuracy, efficiency, and process standardization. As the Business Data Analyst, you can expect to:


Analytics

  • Provide constant maintenance to all Power BI reports published in our service, ensuring latest visuals and DAX formulas released by MS are utilized across all our reports.
  • Ensure optimal performance and standardization across all data models and reports.
  • Proficiently manage the Analytics Project Portfolio by conducting constant requirement elicitations across different business units and translating those needs into tangible and profitable analytics solutions.
  • Collect and analyze large and complex data sets using Power BI and SQL.
  • Effectively communicate data findings to business owners, supporting them transform the information into action plans that can help them achieve their initial goals.
  • Perform data analysis using forecasting and segmentation algorithms.

Data assets

  • Acquire deep understanding of our current data structure and suggest better ways to organize our current assets.
  • Stay updated about new trend in data and analytics that can be applicable to our retail environment.
  • Champion Data Asset projects, managing internal and external resources, to enhance our current data structure.

Training and support

  • Create and maintain documentation on data sources, data models, and reports.
  • Provide Power BI training to novice users in the organization.
  • Educate all users about new functionalities in Power BI that can beneficiate their report navigation. Maintain these functionalities documented in our how-to articles.
  • Organize workshops to present relevant applications of our data to different levels of the organization, engaging users to conduct more data-driven decisions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence. Previous retail experience a strong asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large and complex data sets from different kind of sources (JSON, CSV, SQL, Rest API, plus many others)
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL process.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
  • Experience using power apps and Power Automate a strong asset.
  • Expert developing reports on Power BI using advance DAX formulas, as well as creating captivating storytelling dashboards. Applicants will be requested to present one PBIX recently created during the recruitment process. Make sure this project reflects all the knowledge you have about Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to all kind of audience.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, as well as external consultants.
  • Position can be remote, but applicant must live near by one of our seven locations.
