Job Description

VA Electrical Contracting Inc. is looking for an Electrical Forman to join our team as we continue to grow. We are an electrical contracting company specializing in commercial grocery store electrical work in the Greater Toronto Area, Durham Region, and just outside of Toronto.

A successful candidate must be positive, communicative, and maintain a professional and positive work environment.

Your Role:

You will be responsible for leading an electrical crew on commercial sites. You will ensure that electrical components are planned, layed out, installed, and wired according to project drawings, specifications, and electrical codes applicable to the project. Further, you will manage the team's schedule and budget to ensure projects are completed on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign tasks to site workers (journeyman/apprentices)
  • Ensure site staff have the resources they need and remain productive.
  • Be the point of contact with the general contractor’s site superintendent
  • Be knowledgeable in the proper use, care and maintenance of tools, equipment, machinery and instruments used in the trade.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and supervisors.
  • Be able to work cooperatively with a team.
  • Coordinate scope of work with other trades on site.
  • Ensures deadlines are met and coordinated with project manager / office.
  • Read and interpret various information data types, such as as-built drawings and electronic drawings including layout plans and electrical schematics.
  • Complete all other duties as may be assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in commercial/project setting
  • Valid Driver's Licence- Clean Driver Abstract Record
  • Strong English Communication Skills in written and verbal
  • Red Seal Certificate 309A
  • Once approved the job position, a criminal record will be asked
  • Safety Certificates to be up to date
