Applications are invited for the regular part-time position of Employment Retention Consultant in the Community Employment Services Division. The starting salary is $26.68/hr for a 24-hour work week. The position is located at the St. Catharines office, at 43 Church Street. Additional hours may be required.

Reporting to the Manager, Community Employment Services, the successful candidate provides support to job seekers as they move into employment and enter the retention phase of employment services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete Employment Action Plan (EAP) checkpoints and complete client satisfaction surveys at various check points throughout the first 365-days of employment
  • Contact clients through multiple methods including phone or email, to obtain employment verification at various milestone checkpoints
  • Assist clients in maintaining employment by assessing client’s needs for retention support and confirm eligibility for financial supports
  • Collect and manage documentation such as banking information, pay stubs, and Employment Status Attestations
  • Maintain accurate case notes to document all types of client outreach
  • Work as part of a team dynamic to share information and provide client updates to the Employment Consultants
  • Contribute to monthly individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) while managing a challenging workload through prioritization and effective time management
  • Work independently within the guidelines of Employment Services

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) year diploma/degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Humanities, Applied Health or a related field of study
  • Two (2) years experience in employment advisement and/or in supporting job retention to a diverse client group
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee a large caseload
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with various computer software packages and ability to adapt to new data management systems.
  • Previous experience with EOIS-CAMS considered an asset
  • Must have valid driver’s license and daily access to vehicle
