Boeing is seeking an Entry Level Research and Technology Engineer working out of the Winnipeg, MB office.

The successful candidate will join the Boeing Research & Technology team, in a hands-on environment, with a focus on composite material processing of aircraft components.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements.

  • Evaluates and implements emerging technologies to achieve business needs

  • Collects information to support definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the manufacture and engineering design of products.

  • Incorporates changes to specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of materials, parts and processes.

  • Conducts basic analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes.

  • Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Uses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.

  • Incorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Must be registered or be eligible to register with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Experience with composite material processing

  • Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems (e.g. CATIA/ENOVIA)

  • Experience in design and execution of experiments

  • Experience with development of new products, systems or technologies

  • Knowledge of aviation industry

Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
