Powell Contracting, a division of RSG International, was established in 1967. With over 50 years' experience, we are the industry leader in providing Ontario with the supply and installation of temporary concrete barriers, noise barriers, crash cushions, guide rails, ground mount signs, overhead signs, and sign structures. Our integrated solutions and project delivery strategies improve project timelines and processes, generating increased capabilities for projects including outfitting highways, transit systems, airports, and municipal contracts.

We are looking to add a Field Labourer - Night, to our Field Operations team based in Aurora.

• Night Shift position with fluctuating start (PM) and end time (AM)
• Benefits and Pension with the Union

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and culture
• Effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, other employees
• Help maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use
• Checking proper material is loaded before leaving to the job site
• Unload material and fuel trucks/equipment at the end of every shift
• Ensure daily maintenance/inspections are carried out for all equipment used and that defective equipment is written up via Vehicle defect form and brought to Operations attention
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform tasks involving manual labourer, construction equipment and power and hand tools
• Accountable to ensure tools are properly used, treated with care, and returned.
• Ensure all defective tools are tagged and brought to the attention of the tool crib manager and a defect form is filled out
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience within the construction industry in a labour driven role
• Experience with road construction a strong asset
• Perform a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy
• Ability to work year-round in all types of weather which may involve muddy, slippery or icy surface conditions, and uneven terrain
• Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record
• AZ driver's license an asset
• Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50lbs+ regularly
