SUMMARY OF TASKS
Saputo Dairy Products Canada is seeking a Finance Associate. Under the responsibility of the Plant Manager – Mount Pearl, the incumbent will be responsible for the timely preparation of weekly & period end cost reports, supporting Plant Accountant in all aspects of the Dartmouth and Mount Pearl fluid milk operations interfacing with all levels of operations. This position will be integral in the delivery of plant specific critical key financial information.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to accounting & administration functions.
- Preparation and presentation of weekly and period end cost reports that record actual costs versus budgeted costs
- Provide analytical and accounting support to aid the Plant Managers in preparation of annual forecasts and budget development.
- Provide direction/support for maintaining accurate inventories.
- Apply a constant improvement model in review of business processes and in building working relationships.
- Basic administrative duties (ie: PO creation, production reconciliation, invoicing, timesheets, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certificate, degree in Finance/Accounting/Cost Accounting/or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and a good knowledge of full cycle accounting.
- Sound communication and inter-personal skills, demonstrated analytical and organization skills.
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented and possess a high degree of initiative and work well under pressure.
