Job Description:

Working as a member of the Financial Services team, the Incumbent is responsible for the complete lifecycle of the College’s capital assets, ensures accurate, timely and complete sub-ledger reporting, asset registration, cyclical inventory counts, ongoing administrative oversight, asset disposal, and year-end reporting and accounting. Also included is the registration of College vehicles and insurance coverage completeness.
In addition, the Incumbent will review and recommend contracts submitted for legally binding signature to the Vice President of Finance and Administration and the College President.
The Incumbent provides analytical assistance in the various activities of the College, including the review and preparation of journal entries, uploads and balance sheet account reconciliation.
The Incumbent assists in the fiscal year-end financial processes and assists with the preparation of financial statements and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc) throughout the year, as well as the development and implementation of internal financial and operational controls and procedures.
The Incumbent also participates in the preparation of the annual audit file and cost audits at the fiscal yearend. The Incumbent acts as a financial analyst and consultant to all areas of the College and prepares financial and operational reports to meet the information needs of management, as well as external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a three (3) year diploma/degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance;
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting area including experience with financial year-end processes and reconciliations;
  • Experience in the capital/fixed asset life cycle and oversight, as well as contract reviews;
  • Demonstrable ability to perform complex Excel functions;
  • Beneficial to have Workday or other ERP experience.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable lifting boxes of 30-40 lbs and be on site 4 days a month as required.
