About the role

At Boston Scientific, the Global Supply Chain Manager II is responsible for worldwide inventory, supply chain, and customer care performance for their franchises/product(s). The leader will possess the skills and aptitude required to lead a team and provide cross functional supply chain support to key stakeholders (Marketing/Sales, Country Supply Chain, Sustaining /Supplier Engineering and external Contractors/Supplier). They will demonstrate a high level of decision-making skills, supplier management, and will have the ability to work autonomously. This position will support the Boston Scientific location in Ottawa, ON and is primarily focused on-site.

Your responsibilities will include:

Demand Planning

  • Lead S&OP process for the business and drive the decision-making process.
  • Manage and provide work direction to Global Supply Chain Demand Planner(s) Customer Care members and Nuclear Compliance staff.
  • Review statistically generated data to drive consensus on forecast creation and performance of commercial execution.
  • Review safety stock targets and approve changes, including daily supply.
  • Work with Global Marketing, Country Demand Planning, and Country Sales groups to identify all known demand sources (customer orders, scheduling agreements, distributor shipment, consignment, etc.).

New Product and Launch Management

  • Core Team Member for Supply Chain/Operations on New Product Development Team.
  • Develop launch plans, including forecasts, inventory targets, long term strategy and introduction schedules with support of stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership on coordination of supply activities during product launch execution.

Inventory Management

  • Lead the development of inventory plans including inventory optimization projects.
  • Diagnose excesses to inventory objectives and develop plan to remediate.
  • Lead process to ensure supply chain redundancies.

Supply Chain Execution

  • Support Franchise Leadership Team responsible for service level, inventory levels, and overall coordination of supply chain including daily global distribution.
  • Achieve KPI Metrics: Service Level; Inventory; Forecast Accuracy/Bias; Healthy Stock and Inventory charges.
  • Creates mid to long-range plans to carry out objectives established by product portfolio. Participates and calculates a budget for a department or group to meet organizational goals; forecasts future departmental needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; recommends or modifies the structure of organizational units or a centralized functional activity subject to senior management approval.

Management Requirements

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g., federal/country, and regulatory requirements).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management/Engineering, or related field such as Science or Business
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain planning, materials management, manufacturing planning or inventory control function, product development and optimization, and general project management
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to successfully interact and influence at all levels of the organization both domestically and internationally
  • Previous people management experience with multi-disciplinary groups
  • Self-motivated independent worker and self-starter
  • Consistently performs to a high level of accuracy in all tasks, high level of attention to detail
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept development/implement new ideas, processes, and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and continuous improvement philosophy with efficient decisions making
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time in role, domestically and internationally, with a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • Managing complete just in time (JIT) supply chain
  • Project management and development project execution
  • Continuous improvement experience including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing SAP or other ERP systems
