The Canadian Football Hall of Fame & Museum is a nationally recognized institution dedicated to celebrating the achievements of the greatest individuals in Canadian football history. Our mission is to commemorate the
Individuals who have contributed to the development of football in Canada and to collect, preserve, document, research, exhibit and interpret artifacts and other memorabilia that relate to all amateur and professional football in Canada.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Operations will be responsible for managing the day-to- day operations of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame & Museum (CFHOF). The role will focus on bringing a
21st-century perspective to the museum's scope and direction of exhibitions, programming, and collections management. The Manager, Operations will oversee the care and display of the CFHOF’s collections and lead the curatorial, exhibition, conservation, education, publications, and programming functions in support of the museum’s mission. In partnership with the Executive Director, the manager will work with stakeholders to develop and implement revenue generation strategies to increase profitability. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of generating revenue in a museum or cultural institution setting and have excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement revenue generation strategies to increase profitability.
  • Develop and implement content strategies to support revenue generation.
  • Manage the planning, development, and execution of the Museum’s curatorial, exhibition and educational program offerings and schedules.
  • Manage the care and preservation of the CFHOF’s existing collection and the acquisition of new artifacts.
  • Maintain the CFHOF’s facilities, including regular cleaning and maintenance, to enhance revenue generation opportunities.
  • Support and contribute to the planning and execution of CFHOF events.
  • Management of CFHOF staff and volunteers.
  • Develop & maintain excellent relationship with Hamilton Tiger-Cats / Hamilton Sports Group Staff and

City of Hamilton Staff & representatives.

  • Prepare information packages for committee meetings, take and transcribe committee meeting minutes & maintain appropriate committee records.
  • Represent the museum at external events and meetings as required.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Experience):

  • Experience managing day to day operations in a similar environment.
  • Proven success developing and implementing revenue generation strategies to increase profitability.
  • Experience leading a team of employees or volunteers.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • A self-motivated, team player.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with PastPerfect Museum Software preferred.

Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Museum

  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Interest in and working knowledge of Canadian football and the Canadian Football League considered an asset.

Location
The CFHOF office & Museum are located in Hamilton, Ontario. The successful candidate is expected to work at the CFHOF Office & Museum 4-5 days per week.
