Summary


As a member of the leadership team, the Human Resources Manager (HR Manager) will be involved in the strategic execution as well as hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations in managing all aspects related to the Human Resources at RHK. The HR Manager is responsible to create alignment in our practices, modernize and improve the employee experience, lead complex change management initiatives, create a foundation for our talent management programs, and designing a purpose-driven employee experience that unites our teams across the organization.


This position is responsible for managing, directing, and implementing all Human Resources processes and functions such as employee engagement, compliance with employment law, benefits programs, disability programs, and employee training and development. The individual will support all management positions in the consistent and fair application of RHK policies, procedures, and practices while advising and coaching leaders in the areas of performance management and talent development.


Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and execute any company-wide HR business plans and strategies that address our people goals.
  • Oversee all functional areas of Human Resources including but not limited to hiring and onboarding, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), employee relations, job evaluation, compensation strategy and management, benefits management, organizational development, training programs, and performance management
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s growth with programs that deliver an exceptional employee experience such as employee engagement, talent acquisition, performance and career development, and talent management
  • Provide effective assistance, counselling and guidance to leaders and employees on all HR-related matters
  • Conduct investigations, maintain documentation, and recommend appropriate resolutions of employee relations issues
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the management team regarding Employment Standards, Alberta Human Rights, Workers’ Compensation, and Occupational Health and Safety as required
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting compliance
  • Lead the planning and implementation of employee training and development programs
  • Oversee RHK’s performance management system and support coach managers in leadership and management best practices
  • Execute planned HR strategies using effective change management communication.
  • Help the company develop and nurture a high-performance, high discipline, safe, structured, accountable, focused, innovative, and achievement-oriented team
  • Manage the organization and maintenance of employee records and documentation, including HRIS files, employee records, and employment policies and procedures
  • Other related duties as required to support business operations

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in progressively responsible Human Resources positions with experience in setting strategic direction and developing and implementing companywide programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, ability to work independently and deliver to a variety of commitments and deadlines despite altering time frames and schedules
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of HRIS such as BambooHR is considered an asset
