Job Scope:
The position is responsible for HR and Payroll related functions to all Panavision Canada, Light Iron Digital Canada and LEE Canada staff.
HR Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Primary resource for management and resolution of employee issues
- Responsible to ensure company policies and practices are compliant with Provincial and Federal law
- Primary contact for management with respect to employee coaching and counseling
- Assist in the design, development and delivery of mandated training programs (ie Anti-Harassment) and also new training programs
- Responsible for overall Group Benefits Administration and Corporate RRSP Program
- Management and oversight of the annual year end reporting process
- Administration of all Leave of Absences
- Administration of the Annual Performance Management process and the 90 Day Review process
- Work with Managing Director in development of Succession Planning process
- New Hire Orientations and Employee Exits
- Responsible for revision/update of Employee Handbook on an annual basis
- Administration of any Relocation or Immigration requirements
- Responsible for oversight of workers compensation process for all Panavision Canada Branches
- Establish partnerships with outside vendors or consultants as appropriate for training and development needs
- Travel to other offices and ad hoc projects as required
Payroll Specialist Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process payroll on a weekly basis for hourly and salaried employees which can include garnishment processing,
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records
- Balance payrolls based on year-end calendars, participate in audit as assigned
- Prepare payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll general ledger accounts as requested
- Complete year end balancing, filing and delivery of T4s complete yearend tax form amendments as required
- RRSP management and remittance monthly
- Maintain annual vacation scheduler for Managers and Senior Management
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources generalist experience / Certified Payroll Compliance Professional or Certified Payroll Manager
- Working knowledge of ADP payroll system – WorkForce Now
- Ability to effectively interact with senior management as well as employees at all levels within the organization
- Prior management experience preferred
- Strong customer service focus
- Prior experience in areas of Employee Relations, Recruitment, Performance Management and Employee Development
- Results-Oriented, Detail Oriented and Deadline focused
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience in media, entertainment or technology organizations preferred.
- Ability to be flexible and thrive in a constantly changing work environment, with changing priorities
Education/Technical Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field, preferred
- Certified Payroll Compliance Professional / Certified Payroll Manager or higher
- Strong knowledge of Provincial and Federal employment/labour law
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
