Job Description
The School of Business is seeking Business Instructors, Accounting for short‐term appointments. This is for Instruction in Business Administration, Post‐Graduate Business Management, and Post‐Graduate Accounting diploma programs to teach one or more of Introductory Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and/or Intermediate Accounting. The successful candidates will join a team of accomplished business professionals in a very fast‐paced and internationalized School. The course schedule is planned for in-person delivery on the Castlegar campus in late afternoon sessions but may be amended if needed.
The FTE will range from 12.5% to 100%.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students
- Evaluate students and provide constructive and meaningful feedback to students
- Develop and maintain curriculum
- Actively contribute to the college and school, including participating in School and program meetings
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues

- Protect student information
- Perform other duties as assigned by School Chair or Dean
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrated Ability courses to teach, as well as engage with others in the faculty team to facilitate student engagement
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with students with diverse backgrounds and academic abilities
- Strong organizational and problem‐solving skills
- Excellent communication skills,
- current accounting work experience
- Experience teaching international students would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills (both orally and in writing)
- Strong competencies in working independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to continuous learning
Education and Experience
- Must possess an accounting designation degree
- Relevant industry experience
- Preference will be given to applicants who possess two to three years of successful post‐secondary teaching experience, course development experience, or an instructor’s diploma
These are short‐term, part‐time and full-time (12.5% ‐100%) positions commencing August 17, 2023, and ending December 22, 2023, or commencing August 8, 2023, and ending April 29, 2024, depending on which courses are offered. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Selkirk College Faculty Association (SCFA) Collective Agreement, Schedule A. The salary range is $2,369.08 ‐ $3,806.85 bi‐weekly (at 100% appointment) and is based on qualifications and experience.
