The Opportunity

We are actively recruiting an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Vancouver. The Intermediate Accountant is an essential member of the finance and reporting function for the Agentis Group of companies, working directly with the Senior Accountant and Controller.

The Intermediate Accountant is accountable for supporting the accurate and timely completion of all financial reporting (including investments) on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis. The role will also support the finance team with routine and ad-hoc legal and administrative matters.

The ideal candidate will have a broad set of proficiencies as this role is challenging and requires the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

· Assisting the Controller with the full accounting cycle

· Supporting the month end close with the preparation of working papers, and monthly entries for a group of companies

· Maintaining bank reconciliations for over 15 accounts

· Reconciling investments

· Supporting low volume AR invoicing

· Supporting AP and payroll as required

· Assist the Controller as needed in fielding audit and tax related queries

· Maintain an organized document filing system

Qualifications and Experience

· 2+ years of relevant work experience

· Experience in financial services, private equity, investment accounting

· An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines.

· Pursuit of a CPA designation

· Knowledge of provincial and federal sales tax

· Self-motivated, accountable and results-driven

· Ability to drive tasks to completion and juggle multiple deadlines

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills

· Ability to exercise tact and sound professional judgment when responding to matters concerning sensitive and confidential financial information

· Commitment to process improvement, identifying gaps and presenting solutions

· Proficient in MS Excel

• Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
