This position assists in the coordination and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, as an Engineer-in-Training.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinates the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure projects.
2. Assists with the tendering process for capital projects, including preliminary documents, construction estimates, detailed design drawing preparations, material selections and specification reviews.
3. Performs inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications and Occupational Health & Safety requirements.
4. Communicates with contractors, other civic departments and regulatory agencies to provide contract administration and ensure compliance with Civic and Provincial regulations.
5. Reviews, and provides recommendations, relating to technical specifications, construction materials and methods of construction.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of three years’ university with current enrolment in Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
- Experience in municipal infrastructure construction projects would be considered an asset.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
Weekly Hours: 36.67
Salary Range: $56,179.56 CAD
per annum (2023 rates)
