Job Description
We are seeking a
Field General Labourer on behalf of our dynamic engineering client – they make fiber optic technology to monitors pipelines in energy sector. If you’re interested in learning more about the functionality of fibre optics and want to enhance your mechanical skill set, we want to speak to you!
Please note: This position requires the ability to travel out of town for up to 15 days/month
Responsibilities:
- Installing specialized fiber optic cable
- Installing and maintaining field equipment
- Preparing required materials and equipment for installation/deployment at the site
- Filling all required reports such as quality control sheets, time sheets, safety forms, etc.
- Adhering strictly to all required health and safety regulations
- Regular use of hand tools, and power tools
Requirements:
- Experience in similar field work would be preferred
- Must be willing to work in the field on all required days (at least 15 days/month) and some weekends
- Previous experience installing fiber optic cable is an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driver's abstract
- Willingness to travel to remote worksites
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
