What we need:

We are looking for an experienced and exceptional people who are dedicated to their craft and want to be apart of our growing team. Our ideal candidate will be somebody who enjoys a fast passed and ever changing variety in their work week. The position will be switching from landscape construction to maintenance & snow removal. Must be willing to continuously learn and improve. Ability to work with other staff in a training role. Must be comfortable facilitating repair and maintenance on equipment and machinery.

What it pays:
Compensation for hours worked will be based on industry experience and ranges from $20-$35/hr. Benefits and company RRSP are also available after the 6 month probation has ended. There are also performance bonuses that are allocated as per our program.

Calgary Lawn Solutions is looking for a Lead hand / machine operator for its Summer landscaping and Winter Snow removal . Must be capable of working with various hand tools for machine set-ups and power tools for construction. This is a very physical (hands on) and technical position.

Successful candidates will have an excellent track record within the industry experience and has extensive experience in a commercial environment. They will also be a highly motivated person who works well within a team and take ownership of their assigned responsibilities, be hands-on with the ability to identify problems and resolve them in as efficient a manner as possible, and be able to build/sustain relationships with the suppliers, trades, clients and the project team, with energy, drive, and total commitment to design excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete general labour tasks on-site as needed.
  • Responsible for receiving and verifying quantities of all material delivery.
  • Lead and complete construction projects and tasks within the agreed-upon deadlines throughout the project.
  • Coordinate sub-contractors and labourers.
  • Build relationships with subcontractors, key suppliers, and other companies that support our operations.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the client’s specifications.
  • Possess the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while adhering to overall deadlines.
  • Ensure that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded on all projects.
  • Make sure our company policies and procedures are being followed to at all times.
  • Ensure that the quality of work completed meets our high company standards.
  • Ensuring all OH&S policies and other regulations are adhered to.
  • Be able to efficiently take each project from permit applications through to construction completion.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Class 5 Driver's License Required
  • Able to handle the physical nature of commercial construction projects (ability to lift 50 lbs)
  • Able to use cut off saws, jackhammers, cutting torch and other construction tools
  • Knowledge and comprehension of carpentry / wood working
  • Able to operate skid steer loader, excavator, tractors, fork lift, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, PPE, operating procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of the construction trades and processes
  • CSTS 2023
  • WHMIS
  • Must be Punctual and Reliable, Flexibility required (shifts and weekends may be required)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in construction / landscaping / renovation / demolition
  • Minimum 2 years experience and confidence with towing heavy trailers

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Seasonal, Apprenticeship

License/Certification:

  • Class 5 License (required)

Qualified applicants must know how to operate machinery, have a valid and clean drivers license, own a vehicle, be reliable, honest and a have good work ethic as well as a good attitude.

Wage will be based on experience, but we offer some of the top wages in the industry with the option of attractive bonus options on completion of jobs. Vacation pay is paid out on every pay check. Pay is bi-monthly.
