Position purpose:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Campus Maintenance and Operations, coordinates and supervises the various programs that provide transportation services on the main campus, including the Alta Vista area. Manages the transportation aspect of the University’s furniture recycling program, including transfers between various warehouses. Responsible for the maintenance of the Facilities service vehicle fleet.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the workload distribution for transportation requests and plan daily, weekly, and monthly workloads for moving crews and drivers to meet customer and convention/reservation requests.
- Establish, implement and enforce University safety policies, standards and procedures.
- Work in coordination with other departments to guide them in the preparation of their moves, set-ups (installation of tables, chairs, signs, etc.) during events or meetings and also for any other miscellaneous requests on campus. Provide support to clients with obtaining bids.
- Ensure optimal use of all resources and equipment and maximize cost effectiveness. Performs auditing of customer collectable costs. Compile invoices from service providers for final approval by the supervisor.
- Arranges for the safe and sanitary transportation of animals from the laboratory.
- Maintains the fleet of vehicles under the responsibility of the Facilities Department which consists of approximately 12 vehicles.

- Experience in using various software, such as: Maximo (service request management software), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and internet browsers
- A valid driver's license is required
- Knowledge of the local geography
- Bilingualism — English and French (spoken and written)
