This position is required to work in the Camrose branch office.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Loan Compliance under the direction of the Legal Assistant III, the Legal Assistant I performs basic paralegal work relating to security documentation and inherent statutory and procedural requirements by checking and maintaining AFSC’s loan security and all related documents in accordance with AFSC’s policies and procedures and accepted legal practice. This position is also responsible for providing support to the Legal Assistants and the department in general.

  • Interact with other areas of AFSC to gain an understanding of roles outside of the department.

What will you be responsible for?
  • Supporting others by carrying out a range of research and legal tasks.
  • Process paid out loans including discharge of security.
  • Compile data for a variety of sources to produce accurate reports.
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of procedures and guidelines that are in alignment with internal policies and/or external regulations.
  • Perform a variety of data entry tasks.
  • Maintain, format and amend document precedents.

Qualifications

Minimum: College Diploma or 2 years of related work experience as deemed equivalent.

Candidates may be considered based on a combination of education and related experience.
