Job Description

McCrae Recruiting is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our clients growing team within the Durham Region. This is a straight day shift Monday to Friday 7 am to 3 pm.

Job Overview

  • Maintain and repair machinery, bake ovens (paint line), pumps on degreasers, and cranes
  • Inspect and audit all lifting equipment and gear to identify wear and tear to chains, cables, and mechanical systems.
  • Welding or torch cutting materials either on the ground or in the air
  • Responsible for maintaining the plant in a safe operating condition.
  • Maintain building construction and maintenance of all facilities, such as masonry, steel, and wood construction.
  • Establish and follow lockout procedures for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and kinetic energy. This includes all chemical processes including blanking and confined space entry.
  • Work closely with production, senior management and engineering to review all recommendations for assistance and alternative ideas.
  • Snow and ice removal, sanding, draining, poles, wires, and signage in conjunction with good housekeeping and warning identification.
  • Maintain all fire equipment sprinkler systems.
  • General housekeeping, all materials placed in designated area
  • Other tasks as required

Job Benefits:

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Manufacturing performing PMs, troubleshooting, maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems; machinery including punch brake, and robotics
  • CWB Certification, Class 1 & 2
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge is required
  • Millwright 433A is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices such as milling, lathe work, and drilling.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Lift Truck License is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Team oriented
