As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our equally talented and driven team.

The Position

As the successful candidate, you will design new cattle-handling products including headlocks, free-stalls, gates, fences as well as fan mounting/support systems including steel parts and simple equipment. Your day-to-day work will include mostly 3D modeling and the design of products for our dairy farm clients throughout North America.

As you evolve in this position, you will eventually take on other responsibilities including liaising with the factory and managing of other team members.

What You Need

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques relating to steel to design products that are efficient to manufacture
  • CNC machining, bending, and forming
  • Strong knowledge of welding and common challenges and their solutions to avoid issues in design and to help the factory improve their processes
  • Good knowledge of jig/tool making to help the factory be efficient and precise in the tools they use to make our products
  • Strong knowledge of 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor is preferred) and the ability to do motion analysis and stress analysis if needed
  • Desire to grow over time into the role of manager for the engineering team (2 to 3 drafting personnel and factory relations)
  • Knowledge of the dairy industry, cows, and farms, is an asset but not a requirement
  • We prefer someone knowledgeable with welding and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Mandarin and willingness to travel internationally are assets but are not required

Salary: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
