Job Summary

The Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions leads the Province of British Columbia in efforts to improve the mental well-being and reduce substance use-related harms for all British Columbians. The Provincial Support Office is responsible for the operational implementation and delivery of integrated child and youth teams, a new and innovative model of community-based mental health and substance use services to young people and their families in British Columbia. These multi-disciplinary teams will be connected to a cluster of schools and serve young people in locations where they feel most comfortable. Team members will be comprised of child and youth clinicians, youth substance use practitioners, school counsellors, peer support workers and Indigenous support workers.

The Office Assistant position provides general administrative, clerical and program support to the division.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum one year of experience (within the last three years) working in an office setting.
  • Experience using computers and software programs (e.g., Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Six months of experience working independently and as a team member within a multi-disciplinary environment with other professional staff.

Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:

  • With a diploma or certificate in Office Administration.
  • With more than one year of experience in each of the above requirements.
  • With work experience with Indigenous organizations and communities.
  • With lived or living experience of, or experience working with, populations with complex health and social challenges.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
