Job Description

Position Overview:

As the Head of Canadian Monitoring, you will be responsible for managing and leading a large monitoring team that operates 24/7. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our alarm monitoring station, maintaining the highest level of service delivery to our clients. You will oversee the monitoring process, implement change, and provide guidance and support to the monitoring team under your supervision.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of monitoring operators and supervisors primarily during the night shift, ensuring optimal staffing levels and adherence to work schedules.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and ongoing training to the monitoring operators Supervisors to enhance their skills and maximize their performance.
  • Oversee the monitoring process, ensuring all incidents are promptly handled, accurately assessed, and responded to according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures, conducting regular audits to maintain quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the monitoring operations, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and open communication amongst the monitoring team.
  • Monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of improvement and take appropriate actions to address them.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders to address operational challenges, implement process enhancements, and ensure seamless coordination.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a monitoring or similar operations environment is essential.
  • Proven track record of managing and motivating large teams, particularly in a shift-based work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in monitoring activities.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven monitoring tools and software.
  • Ability to work night shifts and manage a flexible schedule as required.
