Securiguard is currently looking for Patient Watch Security Guards at Healthcare facilities in Durham Region- Oshawa/ Whitby/ Ajax/ Port Perry/ Bowmanville.

As a patient watch security guard, you'll be monitoring the patient, often in the patient room, with complete focus on the patient's safety. The objective is reducing the risk of the patient from harming themselves or others and actions that would impede the safety of the patient. The Patient Watch Security is not clinically trained and does not perform clinical assessments or other clinical duties. Working in a healthcare environment, no two days are ever the same and your role will include responding to codes, conducting patrols and providing integral support to healthcare staff. You may also be required to liaise with various law enforcement agencies from time to time.

We are looking for licensed security guards with patience, compassion and empathy who want to make a positive impact in the lives of patients and staff. We will provide all additional training including Crisis Management, Effective Communications, Management of Resistant Behaviour, Mental Health Awareness and additional healthcare training. Requirements:

• Strong communication skills in English
• Customer service skills
• Valid Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work 8 and/or 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents
• Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing
• Previous security experience in healthcare industry would be an asset
• Police Foundations, Community Justice Services or Law Enforcement Diploma would be an asset
