Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient provision of drug distribution services, including oversight of pharmacy systems, both automated and manual. The manager works collaboratively with the pharmacy operations team to ensure that the compounding, preparation and delivery of medications meets high standards for quality and patient safety. In addition, the manager oversees drug procurement and inventory management, pharmacy practice assistant competency assessment and certification and health technology assessment (drug distribution systems). The manager oversees the selection, training and evaluation of pharmacy practice assistants and technician students with respect to expected performance and competencies and supports the operational, fiscal and strategic objectives of the Pharmacy Department. As well, they are responsible to ensure that all processes, programs and initiatives are consistent with the vision, mission and values of the IWK.
Monday through Friday, 75 hours bi-weekly.
