Job Description

We are looking for a Programmer / Analyst to support our data warehouse/business intelligence (DW/BI) projects. This Programmer Analyst will be responsible for supporting DW/BI activities, such as gathering requirements, performing data model design and implementation, integrating data from multiple data sources, developing Power BI reports. The programmer analyst must also ensure knowledge transfer is completed within the contract allotted time frame.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Elicit and capture business requirements. Creating wireframes for the user stories and reviewing them with users and gathering feedback;
  • Create and update Azure DevOps User Stories with supporting documentation, such as BRDs, Visio Diagrams, Mockups and Swimlanes, stored in DocZone.
  • Liaison between stakeholders, developers, dbas. Understanding both business requirements and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop, support and validate Power BI dataflow, datasets, and multi-language reports.
  • Prepare Power BI packages for promotion across multiple environments (Development, User Acceptance Testing, Pre-Production, Production).
  • Develop and execute unit testing for all developed objects including testing documentation and validation. Assists in system tests, performance tests and other user tests as needed.
  • Triage, investigate and respond to Production Issues.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies – sprint planning and daily stand ups;
  • Knowledge transfer related to Power BI reports activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management, or any other discipline
  • Experience gathering and analyzing data for the development of functional specifications or User Stories;
  • Advanced technical expertise in the development of Business Intelligence Reporting using Microsoft Power BI Services, including Power BI desktop, Power BI dataflows, tabular editor, DAX studio;
  • Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data set;
  • Advanced experience in designing and developing visual reports and dashboards using Power BI desktop, including making DAX queries in Power BI desktop;
  • Solid understanding of BI concepts, and overall Analytics.
  • Good knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL);
  • Experience working in an agile environment using Azure DevOps.
  • Must have security clearance certificate

  • This role may include a hybrid depending on the client’s requirements
