Are you looking for an opportunity to use your health sector project planning and management experience to improve the health of people living in Alberta? AHS is currently looking for a Health Promotion Facilitator II (HPFII) to join the Program Performance and Impact (PPI) Division that supports Provincial Population and Public Health (PPPH) strategy, priority setting and engagement, and integrated planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Reporting to the Team Lead - Planning and Project Management within the Strategy and Planning Department, the HPFII will provide project/program planning and project management support to teams across PPPH. Key activities may include development and monitoring of project charters and schedules, facilitation of working groups or project teams, evidence gathering/synthesis and development of deliverables). In this role, you will collaborate with project teams from across PPPH as well as colleagues in the Performance and Health Marketing and Engagement Departments within PPI. The position will help coordinate efforts to deliver population-based interventions and integrate health equity considerations across PPPH and in partnership with public health zones. Duties will include: project management of key PPPH projects in alignment with strategic plans; supporting business planning for PPPH; and completing a variety of knowledge translation projects synthesizing evidence and information from multiple sources into deliverables. Duties may also include supporting the facilitation of strategic planning at the PPPH-Zone level and PPPH Division level. This position is eligible for hybrid/remote work arrangements located anywhere in Alberta and a modified work week schedule. Description:

As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews, environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process. You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices. You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in population and public health, health promotion or a health care related field. Knowledge of and experience applying the population health promotion model, health promotion strategies, determinants of health, and health equity. Demonstrated experience in planning and managing large, complex projects with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in program planning, development and implementation. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into high quality deliverables for a variety of audiences (technical reports, strategic plans, presentations). Demonstrated ability to facilitate and mobilize diverse groups and build consensus. Experience applying various research methods (literature review, critical appraisal). Demonstrated professional experience with critical thinking skills, including conceptual, strategizing, and problem-solving.

Demonstrated experience working with leadership in a health setting. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects/deliverables simultaneously. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning. Project management certification or education. Change management certification and/or experience. Professional record of being resourceful, creative, adaptive and flexible.
