Rendering Software Engineer (Gaming) - Permanent position in Vancouver (100% Remote):
On behalf of our client in
Vancouver, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a
Rendering Software Engineer (Gaming) with our client for a
permanent opportunity.
Role Description:
You will be part of a new game team that will join forces with our Sony partners who will bring this game to the market. You are a highly motivated and self-starting individual who loves working on video game graphics, tools, and rendering systems. You will work to improve workflows and identify pipeline issues. Knowledge of shaders and distributed workflows will serve you well.
Responsibilities:
- Write, maintain, and modify high-quality C++ code in Unreal Engine to implement and enhance rendering techniques.
- Analyze, optimize, and improve rendering pathways and content creation workflows.
- Diagnose and fix rendering bugs, and profile and optimize rendering code as necessary.
- Work closely with artists and other engineers to meet visual and technical goals.
- Use company-provided workstation hardware, console dev kits, and video game industry-standard software tools such as Visual Studio and Perforce to perform your work.
- Adhere to coding standards and best practices.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in programming/engineering development.
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent C/C++, multi-threading, low-level engine experience, and 3D math / linear algebra skills.
- Experience with modern graphics APIs, GPU shaders, GPU hardware, and common performance bottlenecks.
- Experience with PC and console rendering performance optimization tools.
- Work well within a team environment.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in unreal 4/5.
- Familiarity with common game industry tools & middleware.
- Familiarity with current and next-generation console SDKs.
- Great interpersonal skills.
