Job Description
As one of Canada's Platinum Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a permanent full-time Repack & Grading Team Supervisor to join our team.
Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager, the Repack & Grading Team Supervisor shall use independent judgment and discretion in leading the Graders during the repacking and re-grading processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Organize and supervise the daily activities of the Repack & Grading teams; schedule/assign tasks to team members
- Distribute and log daily job assignments and labour vs. productivity output
- Assist with repacking equipment operations
- Act as a quality inspector for repacking products
- Provide on-the-job training to junior Graders and production workers
- Assist with setting process flow & lean applications
- Train and ensure all food safety policies, GMP, and personal hygiene guidelines are being executed properly
Qualifications include:
- 3 years of supervisory experience in food processing / repacking production lines
- Extensive produce knowledge (an asset)
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work inside and outside coolers
