As a key member of the Human Resources department, the Human Resources Officer is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Team in the areas of Staffing, Recruitment & Selection, Attendance Support, Collective Bargaining, Performance Appraisal processes, the interpretation of policies/procedures/guidelines/ Collective agreements, Special Projects and all other related Human Resources functions as required.
Qualifications
A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources with a minimum of two (2) years working as part of Human Resources teams OR a combination of education/training and experience may be considered.
A sound knowledge of human resource management practices is essential.
Experience working in the Public Education system is considered an asset.
Open to learning, sharing ideas, accepting feedback and adept at maintaining. self-awareness.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills when required.
Display excellent interpersonal skills while building positive relationships.
Ability to work with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Quality of work meets a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Take the initiative and provide advice within a scope based on judgment, facts and alternatives.
Foster collaborative relationships and provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
The ability to keep organized and complete work with minimal supervision.
