Robert Half is partnered with our client, a leading financial services firm, in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant who is at mid to final stages of their CPA designation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full monthly accounting cycle, including budgeting and forecasting, as well as overseeing the year-end audit process. Your expertise and attention to detail will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and manage budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory requirements.
Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to management.
Play a key role in the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors, preparing supporting schedules, and addressing any audit queries or findings.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software, identifying process enhancements to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance the company's financial processes and reporting.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or nearing completion is strongly preferred.
Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Solid understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze complex financial data effectively.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in financial reporting and data handling.
