What you’ll do
The Senior Business Analyst is an instrumental part of the project delivery team responsible for delivering requirements gathering, solutioning, future state process design and UAT cycles for large projects and strategic business change initiatives. Work includes ensuring that requirements traceability through solutioning and testing is maintained to support all project success criteria.
Establish, plan, and scope the Business Analysis engagement for the project including what, how, and when deliverables will be produced.
Lead and manage the business requirements workstream from point of gathering through to solution delivery. This includes opportunity definition, requirements elicitation and capture, solution gap/fit analysis, future state business process design and controls.
Manage change control process ensuring that requirements are baselined, prioritized and traceable to objectives and test cases
Drives the decision-making process, is proactive in taking the initiative and leads efforts to identify and resolve requirement issues
Lead and manage the solution testing work stream, including the development of test strategies and plans, detailed test scripts, cases and expected results.
Responsible for ensuring the quality and completeness of all Business Analyst deliverables, including acquiring the appropriate sign offs.
Perform business analysis in a variety of highly complex situations; knows when to use what techniques to ensure resource, time and budget goals are met and quality deliverables are produced.
Provides consultation to other Finance and IT Business Analysts relying on depth of experience and knowledge.
Lead work related to improving Business Analysis best practices within Finance and acts as a brand ambassador for the Finance PMO. This includes improving team capabilities, processes, and templates.
Implement best practices for self and team members by identifying better ways of working and coaching others. This includes the mentoring of peer and junior BAs in the adoption of best practices/techniques for all listed functions, responsibilities, and deliverables.
Support the Project Manager and step in when required. Required to demonstrate the right mix of skill, leadership, and technical ability.
What you bring
University degree or College Diploma
Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Business Analyst (PBA) or a demonstrated history of professional experience
Minimum of 5 years experience of managing the Business Analysis work stream in large, complex projects and change initiatives
Preferred experience within the finance/treasury department of a large, publicly traded company.
Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
Strong written and oral and comprehension communication skills
Flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to give and receive feedback
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
Ability to multitask effectively over multiple projects
Excellent time management, task planning and prioritization skills
Competency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio software
