Department Overview
Reporting to the AVP Finance Operations, the position is responsible to lead a large, multi-faceted accounting operations function with accountability for providing strategic direction, day-to-day guidance on a broad and diverse range of operational activities supporting the Wealth Management lines of business (Direct Investing, Private Wealth Management, TDAM and Operations/Shared Services functions).
Job Description
Role Accountabilities:
Build and lead a diverse, high performing team of finance professionals responsible to perform financial and management reporting functions which includes:
- Accounting, financial and management reporting, and general finance support for the Wealth Management businesses.
- Manage the month end close activities of the team to ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Ensure Wealth advisor compensation calculations and payments are made accurately and on time. Support business partners and advisors with subject matter expertise and to resolve any issues.
- Ensuring accuracy of Wealth legal entities balance sheet and P&L through review and analysis of results.
- Timely completion and review of GL and internal account reconciliations.
- Accurate and timely payments to internal and external parties.
- Support key stakeholders for reporting needs and requirements.
- Analysis and investigation of financials for legal entity and Bank reporting.
- Maintain a strong controls environment and audit ready position, by executing existing controls and implementing new controls as needed to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Support the Wealth compensation re-platforming project (Varicent).
- Establish team performance goals such as SLAs and KPIs in partnership with key stakeholders; guide team to achieve targets through period of change and transformation.
- Ongoing identification and implementation of process improvements to increase productivity, simplify and enable automation where appropriate.
- Perform interviews and ensure effective on-boarding and successful training of new employees.
