The Ambulatory Care and Pharmacy portfolio is made up of three programs and includes Ambulatory Care, Renal Care and Pharmacy. The Ambulatory Care program provides oversight of all Ambulatory Care operations across LHSC and is responsible for over 700,000 patient visits annually. The Renal Care program, associated with the Ontario Renal Network, provides kidney care to all people living in Southwestern Ontario with kidney disease. The Pharmacy program provides extensive services to all LHSC patients and includes drug and disease state information, drug preparation and distribution, and dosage monitoring services.

What the Role is

Reporting to the Ambulatory Care and Pharmacy Executive, the Senior Manager of Operations in Ambulatory Care and Pharmacy is responsible for leading a team that helps identify, evaluate, and execute large scale strategic and operational initiatives across the portfolio. They are responsible for translating decisions of the program leadership into execution, by utilizing relationship management and working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the necessary outcomes. The Senior Manager is a leader of leaders and ensures their team and department operations are aligned with our mission, vision and values, while working together to successfully achieve our strategic objectives.

This role is accountable for leading the day-to-day coordination of strategic and operational planning, developing business cases and financial models to support strategic directions, managing projects to ensure targeted goals are achieved and providing oversight on the programs' performance. The Senior Manager will need to collect and analyze data to support strategies and decision making. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization.

What You Will Bring with You

  • Successful completion of a recognized Master’s Degree in business or health profession; will consider applicants who are currently enrolled and working towards this Master's program*
  • Project Management experience is preferred, and Project Management Designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital
  • Previous clinical and/or management experience in healthcare and the acute care sector is preferred
  • Preference and consideration will be given to active members of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) who have, or are in process of attaining the Canadian Health Executive (CHE) Select certification program
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence experience including high quality and safe patient care and exceptional patient/family experiences
  • Ability to effectively work with diversity, appreciating that different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics can bring richness to the challenge at hand
  • Fluent and computer literate with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • or consideration for an interview will be given to a Baccalaureate and prior experience assessment; proof of Masters enrolment will be required should candidate be successful
