Job Summary

Now, If you were to come on board as our Assistant Manager, we would ask you to do the following for us:

• Supervise cleaning of the facilities, production of menu items, and production of clean laundry.
• Manage associates, designated job routines, and leave requests
• Hires and train new employees
• Learn from and assist the Support Services Manager to resolve labour relations issues, and track and produce reports on weekly inventories, labour and costs.
• Ensure strict compliance with Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety program, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Manual Materials Handling program and WHMIS regulations.
• Conduct weekly workplace inspections
• Maintain associate safety training and a culture of reporting all incidents and hazards.
• Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food service areas.

• At least one year of strong operation experience in Food, Housekeeping or Laundry
• Comprehensive Health and Safety knowledge and training
• Knowledge of food services
• Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff
• Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Post-secondary education with a strong working knowledge of Food, EVS or laundry services preferred.
