Job Title: High-Rise Site Superintendent

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and experienced High-Rise Site Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of our high-rise projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Summary: The High-Rise Site Superintendent will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all on-site activities during the construction of our high-rise developments. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the construction process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-rise construction and possess exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Site Management:

    • Oversee all aspects of on-site construction activities for high-rise projects, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
    • Coordinate and schedule daily construction activities, including manpower allocation, equipment deployment, and material deliveries.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
    • Collaborate with project managers to develop and update project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and overall project timelines.
    • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily activity logs, site reports, change orders, and other relevant records.
  • Team Leadership and Communication:

    • Lead, motivate, and supervise on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
    • Provide clear instructions and guidance to subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring efficient and high-quality workmanship.
    • Foster effective communication channels between different project stakeholders, facilitating problem-solving, and addressing any issues or conflicts promptly.
    • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other professionals to resolve technical challenges and optimize construction processes.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance:

    • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and inspections to promote a culture of safety on-site.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and design requirements, conducting inspections and quality control checks.
    • Address any quality issues promptly, working with subcontractors and suppliers to implement corrective measures.
  • Budget and Cost Control:

    • Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
    • Monitor and control project costs, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
    • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and change order requests, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual agreements.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in high-rise construction, with a proven track record of managing successful projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices related to high-rise construction.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire on-site teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and experience in implementing safety protocols on construction sites.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick and informed decisions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and construction management software.
